K8200 > Construction > 002 X Carriage
- Make sure you have the X-carriage the right way up – consult page 3, 4 and 6
- It shows on page 6 of the X-carriage construction all the bearing clamps in the same direction. I believe this is incorrect – they should all have the open side outwards
- Also on page 6 it says do not tighten the bolts, make sure the bearings cannot come off – you can loosen the bolts later
- On Page 9 it shows the circlips downwards (the picture is upside down, make sure you rotate them so the gap will face upwards on the finished carriage
- Pages 10-15, X endstop adjuster, you will be replacing this dodgy construction later when you can print a simpler item
- Page 18 – make sure you have the bed base the correct way round it is not 90° rotationally symmetrical!
- Page 18-20, Y endstop adjuster, you will be replacing this really dodgy part later as well (it will move when printing causing Y home error and crashing of bed!)
- Page 27 shows the linear bearings with the open side of the bolts in opposing directions, make sure all open parts are facing outwards
- Page 27 show circlips in the correct position (open part upwards)
- Pages 35-36 – make sure the rods are tight lengthways – no linear movement allowed – these photos show the X-circlips in the wrong position
- Page 38 – tighten bolts diagonally a bit at a time while testing the motion along the rods
- Page 49 – these pieces will be replaced later with better (adjustable) printed parts
